To decide to make a change in one’s life is a bold and powerful move. It takes both courage and desire to take this very important step.
For many people the thought of going to see a counsellor can be frightening. This is understandable. It is human nature to fight against vulnerability.
However, when you feel comfortable, safe and accepted, fear can dissipate and real change can happen.
Find the support you need.
If you are ready to take this very important step, help is waiting.

Life is full of ups and downs and we don’t always have the solutions at our fingertips. Though we can not always control what happens to us, we can find strength and empowerment in how we decide to respond to life’s events and the choices we make thereafter. My mandate is to help you find a path that leads you to a better understanding, and in this process, help you generate more fulfillment based on what is important to you so you can live your most authentic life.My name is Margo and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #6003), a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) #1727), as well as a certified EMDR therapist through EMDRIA. I have also been trained as a LENS Neurofeedback Technician and am a certified Interactive Metronome provider.
I earned my first two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education, at the University of British Columbia before going back to complete a Masters in Counselling Psychology at the University Victoria.
In addition to private practice, I have worked as an elementary school classroom teacher for several years and then as an elementary school counsellor in the Surrey School District. This has been hugely advantageous in my private practice as I have the “inside” knowledge of how the school system works and am able to make recommendations based on that knowledge. This knowledge not only benefits any children I may work with, but also their parents, because it can be very overwhelming for parents to know which steps to take in order to best support their child. In addition to working in the school district, I have also worked for Homewood Health, an Employee and Family Assistance Program as a Parent and LifeSmart coach for over a decade. Currently, I divide my time between my position as an elementary school counsellor and a private practitioner in the White Rock/South Surrey area. In addition, I have served as a board member for The Counselling Group to help a collective group of counsellors best serve their community, as well as done some volunteer work for the Women’s Avalon Center in White Rock.
My private practice is based on acceptance, compassion, respect, and trust. I adhere to a client-therapist relationship that is based on these core values. My clients are as valuable to me as I am to them, and therefore, I do not consider myself the sole expert in helping my clients navigate their lives. I see my role as a therapist to guide and support my clients to find their own way…one that they feel genuinely works for them. I thoroughly enjoy learning about my clients and take great joy in helping them learn about themselves through increasing their self-awareness and helping them develop their capacity for self-compassion and self-love. Although I have extensive experience in working with children and parents, I have also taken a new direction in helping clients of all ages work through their personal trauma. My current passion is supporting my clients in overcoming any events and/or experiences that may be holding them back from moving on with their lives so they can live freely and find a healthy, positive, and productive way forward.
